Krysta Meyer Takes An Extra Step In Newborn Care And Safety

A video that originated from TikTok, of a mother tossing her baby into a swimming pool, has been making the rounds lately. The video has sparked a lot of mixed reactions and has garnered a massive number of views on Twitter, and TikTok where it was first posted. A lot of people were shocked at the way the mother of two casually threw her baby into the pool. However, it only ‘seems’ that she is casually throwing her baby in a pool.

The mother of two was actually teaching her kids water techniques from a survival class. Although her approach wasn’t too well received by the public, it has been confirmed that the child was in no danger, and the survival classes were beneficial rather than detrimental to the kids. What was discovered afterward was that this otherwise bizarre approach could well be one of those good baby care tips for new moms that should be added into the list of baby care tips for parents.

Backlashes And Threats

The TikTok video which was posted under the account of Krysta Meyer, the child’s mother, has garnered 53 million views on TikTok, and 22 million views on Twitter. The mother of two has reported that she has received death threats from people who thought her methods of newborn care and safety of her children were not safe for the children.

However, the video is from a survival class conducted by Little Fins Swim School and teaches infants what to do in case they fall into a pool. Krysta also revealed that the reactions of people have been nowhere near positive. Speaking to BuzzFeed, she said she has been called the worst kind of mother.

The Survival Class For Newborn Care And Safety

According to Infant Swimming Resource, such classes have been recorded to have saved the lives of over 800 people. It has been shown to be best when kids are taught safe swimming skills as early as possible. The classes aim to teach little ones how to survive in the case where they find themselves in a large amount of water. Little Fins co-owner, Lauri Armstrong, speaks about how they teach babies to survive in the case of an accident by assessing the situation and finding an exit strategy.

One exit strategy is for the infant to flip on its back and float. This has been around for decades, even though not so popular, but in recent times more and more people have been taking these up. Even though Krysta will definitely not be receiving an apology for the heat she came under for making an otherwise positive focused move towards newborn care and safety, but it sure clears the air about her being a reckless and careless mother who casually throws her baby into a pool for fun.
