Lisa Ryan is a mother of two from Birmingham. As a 38-year old who has been through two caesarean sections and being house bound for six weeks, Lisa started feeling anxious around other mums. Lisa states that she is a confident person, but the experience might have affected her in a way. She started feeling uncomfortable relating with other mothers, especially during the playgroups she attended. This made her to start something different, something that does not require the burden of having to interact with other parents during mother and baby bonding time.

Spa Babies Focuses On Baby Care Week By Week

Lisa started her baby spa which, with a view on creating a place for baby care week by week. Unlike the name suggests, Spa Babies is not just all about baby massage, though there is a session that focuses on just that. Spa Babies was created to serve as a way of helping other mothers whom she felt were having the same difficulty in having to interact with other parents, as she did. She officially launched it in June 2019, for little ones from birth to nine months. In her baby spa, these parents can bond with their children without having to do that. The sessions include a bubble bath, facial and positive touch (which is aimed at helping mothers bond with their baby). In her spa, she strongly emphasizes not having to speak to other mothers (for her customers), because that was the main reason she wanted to create something different. She also states that there is a thirty-minute session where the mothers communicate with their baby (including a facial and lots of kisses, and cuddles too). This session is all about baby massage. This is done after the babies have a relaxing bath which involves a whirlpool and bubble features like a jacuzzi. There is also a shower functionality, and lavender in the air during the routine. She offers excellent advice on having a baby bath.

Response From Customers

Lisa stated that she eventually stopped going to playgroups because they stressed her out. This might be a pointer to how passionate she was about her baby spa. She started with taking one session a week, focusing on baby care week by week, but now runs the spa full time – taking 7 sessions a week. She quit her job as an estate agent to run her spa full time after she started getting massive turnover from customers. She has several regulars (parents who visit once a week or once every two weeks). According to her, one of her regular customers, who attends the spa every two weeks said the calming techniques she learned has helped her little boy a lot. Others praise the routine, with several stating that their children sleep for three and four hours after a session. So far Lisa has turned over Twenty Four Thousand Pounds within eight months. This shows how much her customers value Lisa’s advice on having a baby bath.
