As told by the New York Post, an 8-month old girl passed away after nearly 2 weeks of fighting for her life in the hospital. Allegedly, the mother of the baby girl placed her daughter in the bath and left the baby unattended while she went to another room to do chores around the house. “Amelia Belle Perez died at Montefiore Children’s Hospital on July 15, 12 days after bath time ended in tragedy,” according to police. Doctors pronounced the little one dead after trying everything to keep her alive. At the very least, the baby’s death can help to educate parents with baby health information that is potentially life-saving.

According to the mother, that fateful evening, she put her daughter in the tub with the water still running as she left the room. When the mother went back to the bathroom to check on her daughter, she found her baby girl in the prone position and unconscious. As an 8-month old can easily drown in just a couple of inches of water, parents tending to their babies is a must and is helpful is integral in baby health information we gather while bathing baby. Upon finding her baby’s lifeless body floating in the water, the mother called for help. This case certainly highlights the value of investing in baby health information bathing methods.

No Arrests

Without oxygen for a long period of time, the 8-month old girl was in critical condition on the way to the hospital. Since the situation appeared to be accidental, no arrests were made initially. According to police, the Bronx Special Victims Child Abuse Squad is currently investigating the case to determine if it was purely a matter of a lack of baby health information or willful negligence. When it comes to baby health information, parents have to take charge of their baby’s safety and get educated on dos and don’ts of caring for their tot. No matter what other pressing matters might be at hand, bathtime is a great way of gathering invaluable baby health information to learn what your little one needs from you as their protector and caregiver.
