According To WHO

Women with COVID-19 can breastfeed, according to the World Health Organization. However, necessary precautions have to be observed. Respiratory hygiene being one of such precautions. The infected breastfeeding mother must wear a face mask. She also needs to wash her hands before and after contact with the infant. Routine cleaning of surfaces she has come in contact with also needs to be strictly adhered to. Although the mother can come in close contact with and even touch the baby, the precautionary measures must be adhered to strictly. There is currently no literature that confirms the Coronavirus can be transmitted via breastfeeding. However, it is still important that medical practitioners’ focus is on baby care tips for new moms with the virus in contrast with regular baby care tips.
